The Late Betty Brown

Betty Brown, former Member of the Emsworth Bowling Club has died at the age of 90.

Betty was a founder member of Emsworth Bowling Club, opened in 1997, was part of the original steering committee and supported her husband Jack, our first President. She was a hard working member and the Club’s first Social Secretary, organising her immaculate kitchen, the equipment and the many social events. Betty loved bowling and represented the club for many years.

The funeral will take place at the Oaks Crematorium on Friday 17th July at 1.45pm. Owing to the current conditions, mourner numbers are restricted. The cortege will pass through Emsworth, via the Mill Pond, Horndean Road and Woodlands Avenue.

The family have requested, No Flowers, but donations can be made to the British Heart Foundation.

It is hoped that the Green will reopen for pre-booked slots only on July 1st.

There will be an online booking system plus a dedicated email address and phone contact for booking rinks.

Details will be posted here and sent in an email to those we have contacts for hopefully by 24th June.

Please ensure the club secretary has your up to date contact information.

Members of the P&D WBA have filled up at least a bit of this bowls less period by putting out a team to take on the wretched bug with their woods. Team members have been contributing pictures including two of our own stalwarts. You can see the result by clicking this link  where you can meet up with old friends.
